Location
Where is Jai?
Koreatown, Los Angeles -- Inside Thai Angel Bar: 149 N. Western Avenue, Upstairs
Inspiration
What inspired Jai?
In short: presence & connection to self, others & nature. You can find our full story here.
"Jai"
What is the meaning of "Jai," is that the owner's name?
In Thai, "jai" means "heart," "mind" and "spirit." Our steward is Thai-Chinese and her name is Angel (yes, that is her real given name!)
Symbol
What does the logo symbolize?
Angel combined shapes that were meaningful to her, some she attributed her own meaning to and others she learned through her culture & spiritual exploration. Together, they are meant to symbolize coming together in the path of enlightenment, finding resonance & creating positive ripples in the world.
Tea Blends
Where do you get your tea blends?
We make all our blends in house at the beginning of each night. We pull inspiration from things such as the collective's needs or the celestial calendar. We source our single herbs from an organic & regenerative farm in Oregon -- if they can't grow something themselves, they will source from around the world from farms with similar, sustainable practices.
Loose Leaf
Do you sell your tea blends?
Yes, you may purchase blends by the gram as loose leaf to take home. You can request a blend that you have sipped at Jai before or a custom blend for specific remedies.
Extras
Do you have anything other than tea?
We have Thai desserts and herbal (non-alcoholic) elixirs. They are not included in the Free Flow price but have a low add-on price of $2-$4. We will soon have a gift shop of local artists' offerings and Jai merch!
Rentals
Do you rent this space out for birthdays or filming?
Yes, you can submit a request here.
